Self-care is an essential activity in the daily lives of older adults, however little is known of the extent and mechanisms of restriction in self-care, particularly in older adults with joint pain. The focus of this research is to establish which factors are linked to restricted self-care and provide a basis for future studies that will investigate the potential for interventions to enhance self-care in older adults with joint pain.
